A favourite area in London is Notting hill and the streets around Westbourne Grove. Here you can find some really good restaurants, bars, cafés and pubs, and of course luxury, boutique shops. Beach Blanket Babylon on Ledbury Road is a place where I’ve had drinks many times but never tried their food so when a good friend decided to have her birthday dinner there last week I got really excited.

The decor at BBB is fun and quirky and I love to discover new features every time I come here. The restaurant area is spread out over different floors and areas and we had a very cosy table for 10 in the basement. We chose our food from a 3 course set menu which offered a couple of really interesting starters and a couple of less exciting mains and desserts. I had very nice prepared scallops with butternut squash purée as a starter and poached cod with puy lentils and spinach as a main. The fish was good but the sides were very boring and tasteless. Surprisingly (if you’ve read the online reviews of BBB) the service was great the whole night, staff were friendly and the table got a lot of attention! However, the price you pay for the food can get you something much better somewhere else. I wouldn’t go back here for food but probably for pre-dinner drinks! It is after all a very cool place with great ambience!

After the dinner I met up with some friends and went to Boujis nightclub in South Kensington. I have a love-hate relationship to this club. I’ve never had a boring night there but the way they treat people in the door and the pricing puts me off a bit. After a re-decoration this summer the place had changed. It was more spacious, the stairwell was gone and all the staff were nice! I need to go back there soon again to see if we just were lucky or if Boujis actually has changed to a better attitude!

  1. Amazing blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a
little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform
like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely confused .. Any recommendations? Thank you!

  2. Pretty great post. I simply stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to mention that I’ve truly enjoyed browsing your
